It’s still so very slow my internet and getting very annoying. I have just approved a bucnh of comments, but they’re taking ages to show up…

To those who have sent me URLs of their designs, I am now copying and saving them to my photobucket account, after I have done that, I’ll just code them and save them on your page.

The page will be called like: Working Stardoll Images By *USERNAME*

If any of you have made images, just upload them to tinypic and send me the URL of them You can still send me your URLs via the last post

But as I said before, the internet is still very very slow for me, so judging is STILL not being done And it’ll take a bit to make your pages for yoru images, but I promise if I upload them, they will only be on your page

Oh! And while the internet has been slow, I am making the ‘Vote me for Covergirl’ signs, so I am doing stuff!

Still the internet is failing me on Stardoll, making me unable to judge. CW4ST has made a short list of ones he likes, but it’s only a few people, he hasn’t gone through all the people on the ‘CONTEST’ post

So, I’m afraid you guys will have to wait yet another day, I am so sorry for this, but blame my internet service – it’s always been lame

However, to make up for the lack of judging, I shall code some pages this evening, it’s been a while since I last did it, so it’s about time I did some more

Also, alot of you have talked to me about your own designs you have made in Paint, GIMP, PaintShop Pro, Photoshop… all sorts! And I was wondering, if you wanted your work to reach alot of people, you can send your designs to me and I can:
1: Upload them to my photobucket account, meaning unlimited bandwidth, so they will never go offline.
2: Set up your page here with your name, saying you did that page and no one else (I won’t take any credit).
3: Code your pictures for you with the code, so you just need to make images and not worry about coding.
4: And above all, you’ll get some fame

Just an idea if any of you are on the creative side and want somewhere to show off your work. If you like the sound of it, just comment me here for more info

Judging

We have closed the ‘CONTEST’ post off from any more comments. Please DO NOT comemnt on any other posts for entering the contest, they shall be deleted. If you missed the deadline, then we’re sorry, but we couldn’t have let it gone on too long or else it would take us ages to judge them all. It’s gonna take us ages as it is, going to every single page and reading up about them.

So, CW4ST and I shall start judging now, after the judging is done, we shall post our list of 5 winners on the site here and contact them via Starmail (the mail system of Stardoll) on CW4ST’s account.

Random Updates

1st, thankyou all for signing up for the contest! For those who ar still thinking about signing up or not, the deadline is tomorrow (Tuesday 27th of August 2007). After that, I will close off comments to that post and CW4ST & I shall look at every entry and judge!

2nd, I have finally uploaded the ‘Internet Explorer Piczo Edition’ tutorial to the ‘How Do I Get Pictures On My Stardoll Presentation?’ page. So those in Internet Explorer can now get pictures on their Stardoll presentation via Piczo! I’ll be uploading the ‘Firefox MySpace Edition’ tutorial later today and I’ll be taking screenshots for the Internet Explorer version even later on!

3rd, due to confusion over the ‘How Do I Get My Medoll On My Stardoll Presentation?’ tutorial, I have added a link to the end of it, linking to the ‘How Do I Get Pictures On My Stardoll Presentation?’. Hopefully, people will no longer be confused

4th, if anyone has asked me in comments for help since my last post, I shall try and reply to them as soon as I can! Right now, I’m gonna try and do the MySpace tutorials!

“I’d just like to let you know that people arw taking advantage of you posting that code. People who can’t figure out what to do with it are paying people who do, so people are still getting ripped off.
You should remove it or post exactly how to use it right below it. There are people charging lots of money for pix. And because of it stardoll will remove this code too……

Long reply coming up!
I really see what you mean and where you’re coming from, but as sad as it is, some people just don’t get the code. Like, there are 10 year olds who get it and have dozens of pictures they made on their presentations, yet there are 18 year olds who just don’t get it. For example, neither of my parents know HTML, 0% is how much they both know. If I showed a tutorial to them both, my Dad would be able to do it and my Mum wouldn’t. Not because of age or IQ, but because my Dad is more computer savvy then my Mum.

My point is some just get it and some just won’t. It’s hard for me to really understand, cos it’s just changing the URL, width and height and your done. I do it in less then a minute. But that’s cos I’ve been doing it for months and HTML for 7 years, it’s easy for me. So it’s hard to get into the mind of someone who sees it as alien language.

On the subject of people charging for it, I still believe that people should just treat others how they would like to be treated. No one wants to pay for something if they don’t have to, yet people still put that at the back of their heads and go for the money. People doing stuff in Paint or Photoshop or whatever, like making signs and charging them, I think that’s okay, cos the person worked on it, like a trade. But, charging someone for the code, something everyone should know for free… I find that bad.

If anyone has problems with the code, don’t go and pay someone for it, I will glady help you get to grips with the code.

There Are Those Days…

…where your PC hates you. And today, is one of them for me. I’ve uploaded the ‘Firefox Piczo Edition’ on the ‘How Do I Get Pictures On My Stardoll Presentation?’ page, but while I was doing the ‘Internet Explorer Piczo Editon’, my PC decided to hate me. I won’t go into details, but I’ll do the page later, when my hatred for my PC has calmed down.

Sorry for the long delay for replying to comments, but I honestly whacked my PC six times trying to get it to do what I wanted, so hopefully when I come back, my PC should have decided to like me again…

And I do know that a PC is an object and isn’t a person that hates me, but it sure does feel like it at times.

If you guys in Internet Explorer can’t wait, you can follow the tutorial, just use the way in the ‘Internet Explorer HTML Page Edition’ tutorial to get the width and height of your image. Everything else is exactly the same.

Comments: I shall do them later, don’t worry if they aren’t showing, I have yet to approve them, but I promise I will later, after…

Tutorials: I had a brain wave last night while trying to get to sleep (I guess I am a nerd after all ), and I found a way to get pictures on your Stardoll presentation via Piczo, MySpace and WordPress (well, the last one I already knew, seeing that’s how I do it). So, I’ve taken screenshots for the Piczo tutorial in Firefox and Internet Explorer, and I DID take screenshots for MySpace in Internet Explorer, but while I was saving them in Photoshop, it crashed So, I only have the Firefox MySpace tutorial screenshots saved. I’ll take the Internet Explorer MySpace screenshots later after writing up the Piczo tutorials, because more Stardoll users have Piczo then MySpace, it makes sense.

We’re very close to 1 million hits now! So I’ll try and get the tutorials done before we hit 1 million, so I can reply to all your comments!

EDIT: OH! And I did look for a screenshot program last night and I couldn’t find one that was free. However, on my travels, I did find how you take a screenshot in Mac:
“Pressing Command-Shift-3 takes a screenshot of the entire screen, and Command-Shift-4 takes a screenshot of a chosen area of the screen or if you press Space afterwards you can choose a window on the screen to individually screenshot. These images are saved to the desktop, but if you hold down the control key with the rest of the keyboard shortcut, the pictures are copied to the clipboard instead. These shortcuts also work in Mac OS Classic.

You can also use the Grab application to take screenshots.”

Of course, I have no idea what that all meant, but I assume those in Mac do! So I hope that’s helpful to you while doing the MeDoll tutorial

EXTRA EDIT: Apparently, some versions of Vista have a tool called ‘Snipping Tool’, you can you that to take screenshots… I think. But I’m on XP, so I can’t help you, I’m just copying and pasting what I found on the internet.

Heya All!

Sorry for the lack of updates the past two days, but I have my reasons!

1: My brother… he had some PC problems yesterday and it took me ages to fix them! So, by the time I had finished, it was really late and I was waaaaay too tired ot do anything else, so that was why there wasn’t any updates yersterday.
2: But why were there no updates today? My internet wouldn’t let me onto WordPress.com, so I couldn’t re-code, reply to comments or do anything else. Only now, I’ve been able to reply to all those comments! So, if you comemnted since my last entry, I should have replied to you! If not, then I must have missed it please comment again!

Soooo, with that all over with, I jut wanna say thankyou to all those defending me on the i-hate-t7lae guestbook I didn’t even know the account existed until an hour or so ago and I just felt so… well, I guess ‘happy’ but it was something deeper, I’m just not sure of the word, but I felt really… grateful (is that the word?) that so many people would go to my defence, I wish I could thank you all one-by-one, it really means alot to me So thankyou all

Now, back to business! I shall try to:
1: Find a free animating program!
2: Find a free screenshot program!
3: Make ‘vote me for covergirl’ signs!
4: If I have any spare time, fiddle with the ‘welcome’ signs!

Annnnd, we’re currently (at time of typing) at 956,062 hits! Only 43,938 hits away from 1 million! So, my guess is we *might* reach it late tomorrow or early the dy after! Seeing as it’s getting so close, I am wondering what I should do to make it special. I have a few idea, including some sort of contest where the winners get a handmade welcome sign or something. But, you are the vistors and I wouldn’t be reaching 1 million without you, so if you have any ideas to make the 1 million mark special, comment this post and I’ll read through the ideas!
